68-Year Old Grandmother Who Lost 12.2 Pounds
1. Intro
The last few weeks I’ve been taking it slow on my weight loss journey. I’ve eaten meals of leftovers and frozen meals, but I’m not eating much of anything else.
I have lost weight, but it isn’t easy for me to keep track of what I eat and what I don’t because I am so busy with my family. Last week my youngest son was home from college for the holidays, so we had a little family time to ourselves.
My daughter-in-law asked me if I wanted to go upstairs and see how much weight I had lost since my last weigh in. She then asked, “Aren’t you going to have any more food at all?”
I apologized for not doing this before but didn’t think that my body would be able to handle it right now.
I could only muster up an answer that was already familiar – “No! It just doesn’t feel like there is enough room in the pantry anymore!”
It was quite the revelation that this was what my body actually felt like after losing 12.2 pounds over the last year. But even more surprising was how happy it made me feel that this felt like a good thing – that maybe my body knew exactly what it needed as far as food went – and if not, then maybe now it did!
I’ve had a chance to sit down with my grandmother for about five hours over the span of about eight days. There are some moments where I feel like I owe her an apology for being so ignorant back when I was young and didn’t know what she was talking about. Other times I feel like I should be paying her more attention. But that’s not how it usually works.
Grandma has lived a very full life, but she really lives and breathes family, community, and a good meal. She doesn’t spend much time catching up with people who don’t live in her small town, nor do she have time to think about the end of the world or whether or not the sun will rise tomorrow morning.
But she does have plenty of time to ponder the fact that someone once weighed 200 pounds, lived through a war in Asia, and nearly died from malnutrition before finally getting healthy again. A weight loss of 12 pounds is just one small step on her journey back to health and happiness in her old age after being treated for breast cancer for most of her adult life.
3. What She Ate
There are few things that can be written about Missy A. Piers. But let me start this off by saying that when she lost 12.2 pounds, I was less than impressed. I am no stranger to weight loss and have experienced it myself, but this felt like a fluke and a hiccup in my otherwise-stellar weight history. My first reaction to this was to say “well, at least she didn’t lose her hair” (which would have been a more accurate observation).
I weighed 146 pounds on that day in the field in January of 2013, not including all of the clothes I wore on my back at the time, and still don’t know if I could still eat as much as I ate when I weighed 146 pounds at that same age (I don’t). The fact is, Missy didn’t lose weight through dieting or exercise; she lost weight through losing 12.2 pounds of body fat.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say how thankful I am for everyone who supported me during my weight loss journey — from friends and family members who reached out to offer support and encouragement, to professional coaches and trainers who put their training methods into practice for me and helped me achieve my weight loss goals (I can’t thank them enough), to companies who provided products and services designed specifically for people with body image issues — not just lipo but also nutrition therapy companies like Katch-McArdle Nutrition (now called Katch-It), which helped me melt away 60 pounds of belly fat over a period of two months by eating right every day.
No single factor alone can do the work Missy did on herself; it will take years of hard work in dedication, perseverance, determination, humility, patience and love of self – all while having a loving family around you along the way – however unlikely those odds may seem at anytime during your journey .
It is important to note that Missy wasn’t into dieting or exercising at all; she accomplished her goal by simply following her own gut instinct. The fact is that we all do this sort of thing when we don’t know what else to do with ourselves — we all want something different or better for ourselves than what the world has offered us thus far.
She wasn’t going for looks nor did anyone expect her to look like this today; she just wanted some
All of us have the opportunity to exercise more regularly. It’s a simple fact that we all know: exercise is good for you. Exercise evens out your body, makes you look better and keeps you feeling better.
But it’s not just about cardio; it’s about strength training .
In a study titled “Exercise and weight loss in older adults: A longitudinal study,” investigators observed that women who exercised every day lost an average of seven pounds over the course of six months. They also reported higher levels of happiness, reduced depression and insomnia compared to those who did not exercise...
In the book "I Swear I Took A Trip to the Moon" a young woman named Erica is described as being very intelligent and bright, but she has lost her basic skills. Her parents are from a small town in Georgia where she grew up.
She was once told by her younger sister that when she was in her twenties, Erica would go on a trip to the moon in order to get away from all the stresses of life. She believed this dream and went on adventures with her sister, whom she loved dearly.
Erica had always been active and healthy; however, as time passed, this activity decreased and she began to lose weight. The weight loss came slowly but inevitably and it wasn’t long before it became too much for Erica to carry.
The first sign that something was wrong was an unexplained rash on her face with nothing more than a simple cold or flu. The next incident occurred one night after a long day at work when Erica went back home for dinner and noticed that the food had not been cooked yet; it seemed like it had never been cooked at all. There were no signs of cooking nor were there any clean dishes or utensils in sight.
As soon as she got home, Erica decided that tonight is not going to be like every other night because tonight is going to be different from every other night; tonight is going to be one of those nights where everything gets done at once so that they can eat while they’re still hungry. After getting their food ready, they sat down at their table ready to start eating but all of sudden Erica started vomiting right in front of everyone! She couldn’t even find her fork!
After some paramedics rushed over and treated her near-death situation, Erica lay back on a gurney while doctors worked frantically on trying to figure out what happened exactly…and why?
What is an interesting story about an overweight grandmother who lost 12 pounds? Well, I can tell you what it isn’t: It isn’t about someone who quit their job so they could travel across the country for six months without paying for anything or someone who went all day without eating lunch or someone who decided that since he/she could run faster than anyone else he/she would run faster than everyone else unless he/she broke his leg or broke his arm or broke his neck or broke his hip or broken his back or something bad happened because he/she didn’
6. Conclusion
The amount of weight a person has lost over the course of their lives is one of the most significant factors determining how much they will weigh in the future. The average weight loss experienced by an individual over a lifetime is around 12.2 pounds.
The average weight loss experienced by an individual over a lifetime is around 12.2 pounds. However, this equation is not completely accurate. Researchers have shown that weight loss rates vary between races, genders, and even age groups. For example, the average percentage of weight lost for women can be as high as 76% while for men it can be as low as 42%.
